The Nisonger Child Behavior Rating Form (NCBRF) has been used in several large studies of risperidone in children with low IQs (36–84) and disruptive behavior disorders (conduct disorder and oppositional defiant disorder). We wanted to develop a companion instrument for assessing ‘typically developing’ children and adolescents. The assessment measures included the Social Communication Questionnaire (SCQ), which screens for the presence of ASDs; the Repetitive Behavior Rating Scale-Revised (RBS-R), which measures stereotypy, self-injurious behavior, compulsions, rituals/sameness, and restricted interests; and the Nisonger Child Behavior Rating Form (NCBRF), which assesses behavior and emotional problems in children. One hundred ten children (aged 5-12 years inclusive) with an IQ of 36-84 with a disruptive behavior disorder and a score of at least 24 on the Conduct Problem subscale of the Nisonger Child Behavior Rating Form (NCBRF) were enrolled.
